Welcome to Meerut Public School

The students of Grade VIII at Meerut Public School, Pallavpuram enthusiastically engaged in a hands-on science activity to explore the electrical conductivity of acids. By constructing simple electric circuits and testing aqueous solutions such as dilute hydrochloric acid and lemon juice, they observed bubble formation at the electrodes and indicator colour changes.

Through these observations, students understood that acids conduct electricity in aqueous solutions due to the presence of ions, thereby connecting theoretical concepts with real-time experimentation.

Aligned with the Grade VIII Science curriculum under the unit Materials (Topics: Metals and Non-Metals and Chemical Effects of Electric Current), the activity strengthened students’ conceptual understanding of the chemical properties of acids. It also enhanced their experimental techniques, circuit-building skills, critical thinking, and data interpretation abilities.

The collaborative nature of the task fostered scientific inquiry, teamwork, and evidence-based reasoning, effectively bridging classroom theory with practical application.
